Humanitarian Assistance Being Transported to Needy in Afar Region

Addis Ababa, October 10, 2026 (ENA)—The Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Commission announced that it is delivering humanitarian aid to people requiring assistance in the Afar Region due to the impacts of climate change.

The commission further stated that emergency humanitarian aid is currently being transported to the Afar Region from the central grain warehouse in Adama.

 

While regional states are working hard to respond to natural and man-made disasters using their own resources, the commission is also providing additional humanitarian aid to priority areas, it said.

Accordingly, the commission disclosed that it is delivering humanitarian aid to those requiring top-priority assistance in the Afar Region.

While the Afar Regional State continues providing assistance and monitoring efforts within its capacity, the commission is also providing close support and oversight.

 

Vehicles loaded with humanitarian aid from the Adama reserve warehouse have departed for the Afar Region, it was learned.
