House of People's Representatives Endorses New Cabinet Appointment
Addis Ababa, October 8, 2026 (ENA)—The House of People's Representatives, in its first regular session of the seventh tenure, has officially endorsed the appointment of 22 federal cabinet ministers presented by the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The appointments were made following rigorous selection criteria that evaluated candidate educational qualifications, professional experience, and proven execution capacity. Special consideration was given to ensuring fair gender, ethnic, and religious diversity, alongside commitment to advancing public service and protecting national interests for more than 54 million citizens who cast their ballots in the June 1 General Election.
