President Taye Meets Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

Addis Ababa, August 28, 2026 (ENA) — President Taye Atske Selassie received Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, at the National Palace today.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Thailand across socioeconomic spheres.

They focused on enhancing cooperation in a broad range of shared interests, emphasizing practical initiatives that can benefit citizens in both countries and deepen socioeconomic ties.

They also explored opportunities to advance collaboration that supports development priorities, encourages mutual exchange, and promotes stronger people-to-people ties, while examining ways to work together more effectively on issues of mutual concern.

The two sides further reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening partnership and coordination in regional and international settings, and to identifying concrete steps that can expand shared benefits over time.
