Thailand-Africa Initiative Relaunches in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, August 28, 2026 (ENA) — The Thailand-Africa Initiative (TAI) has relaunched today in Addis Ababa, bringing renewed focus to Thailand-Africa relations and South-South cooperation.

TAI is a foreign policy framework launched by Thailand in 2013 to build strong, results-oriented partnerships with African nations.

Present at the program were Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, and Ambassador Dewano Kedir, Director-General for Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Affairs at Ethiopia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation between Thailand and African countries in political, economic, and development areas.

The relaunch comes as Thailand seeks to further deepen its engagement with Africa and advance mutually beneficial cooperation.
