Ethiopia, South Korea Explore Joint Cooperation in Green Logistics and Smart Mobility

Addis Ababa, August 27, 2026 (ENA) — Ethiopia and South Korea held discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation in the green logistics and smart mobility sectors.

State Minister of Transport and Logistics, Dhenge Boru, received a delegation of South Korean researchers in his office to discuss opportunities for joint partnership in smart logistics and mobility systems.

The consultative meeting focused on the “Ethiopost Green Logistics Transition Package ODA Project.” The head of the research group, Yang Ho Lee, stated that green logistics and mobility are among the key investment areas for South Korea in Ethiopia.

Dhenge noted that the implementation of the project is progressing smoothly and is aligned with the strategic roadmap of the transport and logistics sector.

According to a social media post by the ministry, Dhenge emphasized that, because the project directly aligns with government policy and development goals, the administration is fully committed to providing all necessary support.

He also stressed that integrating modern technologies into operations is essential for improving the efficiency and overall performance of logistics services.

The ministry further stated South Korea’s extensive practical experience and advanced technological capabilities would bring significant benefits to Ethiopia.

For his part, Yang Ho Lee said that Ethiopia’s notable progress in green transport and environmental protection serves as a major factor behind South Korea’s investment interest in the country.

According to the ministry’s social media post, both sides concluded by exploring ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation through knowledge exchange and expert collaboration in green logistics, smart mobility, and the application of modern technologies.
