Ethiopian Ambassador Binalf, Boeing Executives Reaffirm Decades-Long Strategic Partnership

Addis Ababa, August 20, 2026 - Ethiopian Ambassador to the United States, Binalf Andualem, met with senior executives from The Boeing Company at the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, D.C., to discuss ways to strengthen and expand the historic strategic partnership between Boeing and Ethiopian Airlines.

During the meeting, Ambassador Binalf welcomed Mike Schnabel, Boeing’s Vice President for International Operations and Policy, Government Operations, alongside Rachel B. Peterson, Senior Manager for International Operations and Policy.

According to a social media update shared by Ambassador Binalf, the discussions focused on deepening the decades-long strategic partnership among Ethiopian Airlines, Flyethiopian, and Boeing—an alliance grounded in mutual trust, innovation, and operational excellence.

As part of the visit, the Boeing delegation presented Ambassador Binalf with a commemorative model of an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787. The gift marks the milestone celebrations of Ethiopian Airlines' 80th anniversary and honors eight decades of enduring partnership with Boeing.

During the engagement, the Boeing leadership reaffirmed their ongoing commitment to support, advance, and elevate Ethiopia’s aviation sector for the future.
