Nat’l Dialogue Conference New Chapter for Ethiopia’s Consensus, Say Participants

Addis Ababa, August 15, 2026 (ENA) — The ongoing national dialogue conference is serving as a key platform to strengthen Ethiopia’s national consensus and open a new chapter in the country’s history, participants told ENA.

The National Dialogue Conference has been going on since July 15, 2026, at the Addis International Convention Center.

It has brought together 4,000 participants engaged in in-depth participatory discussions on the eight major agenda pillars gathers from all over the country.


Speaking to ENA, Tesfaye Dejene, one of the participants, said the dialogue is progressing well and has opened a new chapter in the country.

Describing the dialogue as a historic opportunity for citizens to collectively seek solutions to long-standing issues, he added that the discussions have extensively deliberated on the agendas and came up with recommendations.


Tesfaye noted that the national dialogue represents a major milestone on the path toward building a better Ethiopia.

The other participant, Ibsa Ibrahim, said the conference is the first dialogue in Ethiopia’s history and will help to strengthen national consensus.


For his part, Bogale Seyda said the process which is inclusive broadly involves diverse segments of the society, including farmers, pastoralists, women, youth and persons with disabilities.
