Ethiopia, U.S. Reaffirm Commitment to Stronger Strategic, Economic Partnership

Ethiopia’s Ambassador to the United States, Binalf Andualem and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Frank Garcia, held a productive meeting that focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation on shared strategic priorities.

In a social media post, the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington DC said the two officials held wide-ranging discussions on current national and regional developments.

The discussion underscored the importance of sustained engagement and close collaboration in addressing complex political, economic, and security challenges.

They also explored opportunities to deepen economic cooperation, with particular emphasis on Ethiopia’s critical mining sector, which both sides identified as a key area for investment, value addition, and long-term partnership.

The meeting reflected the growing momentum in Ethiopia–U.S. relations and a shared commitment to advancing mutually beneficial cooperation, promoting regional stability, and expanding economic engagement between the two countries.
