National Dialogue Promises Better Ethiopia, Say Participants

Addis Ababa, August 11, 2026 (ENA) —The ongoing National Dialogue Conference is laying foundation for national consensus and sustainable peace through discussions of diverse ideas, participants said.

Four thousand local and Ethiopian diaspora representatives have been engaged in an in-depth dialogue aimed at reaching consensus on the eight major pillar agendas in Addis Ababa.

Some of the participants told ENA that the consultations are providing communities from various parts of the country with an opportunity to express their views freely.

One of the participants, Abbaa Gadaa Lemecha Lema, said diverse ideas are being freely raised and developed.

According to him, every participant is freely sharing their views and the process offers a path to resolving Ethiopia’s deep-rooted issues step by step.

This serves as a great opportunity to pass on consensus and steadfast unity in Ethiopia to the next generation, he added.

The other participant, Baye Bere, noted that the dialogue is inclusive, engaging all parties and reflecting diverse ideas.

He stated that the ongoing dialogue is helping build a better Ethiopia by encouraging ideas to be freely raised and discussed during the consultations.

For his part, Alemu Ashagre, said the process is being conducted in a way that reflects the interests of all segments of society.

He described the dialogue as a new culture of resolving problems through consultation, noting that the process will enable the building of a better Ethiopia not only for the present but also for future generations.
