UAE Real Estate Developer, Ethiopian Army Foundation Launch Housing Dev't Project
Addis Ababa, August 7, 2026 (ENA) — The Ethiopian Army Foundation and the real estate developer Reportage Properties have launched a mixed-use development project that blends residential spaces with commercial function.
The housing development project rests on 23,000 square meters, with two residential towers that will have 1,086 apartments and about 15,000 square meters of commercial space, recreational facilities, and landscaped green areas, it was learned.
Ethiopian Army Foundation Board Chairperson, Martha Luwigi, stated that the project will create employment opportunities, improve living standards, and facilitate the transfer of modern construction technologies and expertise.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, she said the project will contribute to Addis Ababa’s economic and social transformation by stimulating investment and improving the city’s urban landscape.
The project is a potential model for future international investment and stronger investor confidence in Ethiopia, Martha added.
The Chairperson also highlighted Ethiopia’s progress in implementing major development projects under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
“Project execution, characterized by stronger leadership, effective coordination, close supervision, improved accountability, and more efficient utilization of resources, has undergone significant transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed,” she noted.
Martha emphasized that international cooperation and partnerships among government institutions, the private sector, international investors and development partners are essential to accelerate sustainable growth, attract quality investment, and facilitate technology and knowledge transfer.
Reportage Group Chairman, Aref Ismail Al Khoori, said Ethiopia has “tremendous potential” and that the company is committed to supporting the country’s growth through developments that create value and opportunities.
The partnership also reflects growing economic and investment cooperation between Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, bringing together an Ethiopian institution and a UAE-based international real estate developer.
Chief Executive Officer of Reportage Properties, Andrea Nucera, said that the UAE developer already has more than 70 employees in Ethiopia; and “we will be an Ethiopian company operating in Ethiopia”.
Reportage Properties operates in 25 countries and employs nearly 15,000 people globally. The company has delivered more than 55,000 units and has about 45,000 units under development, according to the CEO.
