Nat'l Dialogue Diaspora Delegates Engaged in Consultations to Resolve Deep-Rooted Problems

Addis Ababa, July 23, 2026 (ENA) — Ethiopian diaspora representatives at the ongoing National Dialogue Conference said they are holding consultations to permanently resolve deep-rooted problems and pass on a better country to the next generation.

The National Dialogue Commission had unveiled 8 major agenda pillars for discussion following consultations with Ethiopians both at home and abroad.

Some 4,000 representatives have accordingly begun consultations on the agenda items at the Addis International Convention Center in the capital city.

According to some representatives of the diaspora who spoke to the Ethiopian News Agency, the national dialogue conference is proceeding in a transparent and promising manner.

The dialogue is a significant opportunity to build a better Ethiopia, fostering a culture of mutual listening and common understanding, they added.

Among them, Agernesh Haile said the dialogue is highly inclusive as it incorporates the diaspora, persons with disabilities, women, youth, and other segments of the society.

For her part, she is actively participating in the process to contribute her share toward the success of the national dialogue.

“We must play a positive role to the success of the dialogue by prioritizing our country's sustainable peace and development.’’

The other participant, Fozia Hussein, said the representatives are deliberating on issues that will endure for the next generation.

“We are discharging the mandate entrusted to us with a high sense of responsibility and a forward-looking approach,’she stated.

She emphasized that all must collectively stand for the country's lasting peace and unity by fulfilling this historic responsibility with utmost dedication.
