Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan Pledge to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation Across Key Economic Sectors

Addis Ababa, July 23, 2026 (ENA) —Ethiopia and the Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across a wide range of strategic sectors.

State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Hadera Abera held talks with the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Ethiopia, Adylbek Tultemirov, on Thursday, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and identifying new areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Hadera briefed the Kyrgyz envoy on Ethiopia’s recently concluded 7th General Election and the ongoing National Dialogue process, highlighting key developments in the country’s political and institutional landscape.


 

He reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to broadening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in mining, energy, agro-processing, agriculture, tourism, trade and infrastructure, while also encouraging the exchange of experiences and expertise in areas of mutual interest.

The two sides underscored the importance of translating the growing political relationship into tangible economic and development partnerships that can deliver mutual benefits.


 

Ambassador Tultemirov, for his part, commended Ethiopia’s development progress and reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with Ethiopia.
