Deputy PM Temesgen Holds Discussions with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama
Addis Ababa, July 23, 2026 (ENA) —Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh held bilateral discussion with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama at Jubilee House on the sidelines of the African Union Emergency Health Summit.
The Deputy PM said Ethiopia deeply values its longstanding friendship with Ghana, which is rooted in shared Pan-African ideals and a common commitment to Africa’s unity and progress.
The two sides welcomed the completion of Ghana’s new Chancery building in Addis Ababa.
They described the building as a symbol of the enduring bonds between Ethiopia and Ghana.
President John Dramani Mahama expressed his appreciation for Ethiopia’s historic role as a symbol of African freedom and unity, as well as the progress the country continues to make through initiatives such as the Green Legacy Initiative and other national development efforts.
The two sides also commended the preparations underway for the 12th Tana Forum and expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Tana Forum Board in advancing dialogue on peace, security and Africa’s future.
The Deputy PM reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to deepen its close partnership with Ghana in advancing shared African and global interests.
