Finance Minister Ahmed Confers with UK FCDO Global Issues Director-General

Addis Ababa, May 20, 2026 — Ethiopia’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide and UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Global Issues Director-General Melinda Bohannon have discussed the partnership between Ethiopia and the United Kingdom.

The discussion was held on the sidelines of the Global Partnership Conference in London.

According to a social media post by the Ethiopian Embassy in London, the Finance Minister expressed appreciation for the quality, consistency, and enduring nature of the UK’s partnership with Ethiopia.

The two officials reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and working closely to deliver concrete outcomes at COP32 and the G20 meetings, which will be hosted consecutively by Ethiopia and the United Kingdom in 2027.
