Prime Minister Abiy Joins African Leaders in Kenya for Africa Forward Summit

Addis Ababa, May 12, 2026 —Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in Nairobi early this morning to attend the Africa Forward Summit, a major gathering aimed at strengthening partnerships between African nations and France on various spheres.

Co-hosted by Kenya and France on May 11–12, the summit brings together heads of state and government officials from France and dozens of African countries, alongside business leaders, civil society representatives, youth leaders, and international institutions.

 

More than 2,000 participants are expected at the event, including representatives from the European Union, African Union, global financial institutions, and development banks.

 

The summit is focused on addressing shared challenges while creating new opportunities for innovation-driven growth, with a strong emphasis on amplifying the voices of Africa’s young leaders and shaping the continent’s future.
