Ethio telecom Unveils teleStream to Transform Ethiopia’s Media Sector
Addis Ababa, February 20, 2026 (ENA) –Ethio telecom has launched teleStream, a new internet-based content streaming platform set to reshape Ethiopia’s media and entertainment landscape.
In a press statement sent to ENA, the company said the launch represents a major milestone in its corporate roadmap titled "Next Horizon Digital and Beyond 2028," which seeks to expand digital inclusion and stimulate nationwide economic growth.
The platform offers more than 60 live television channels and over 350 videos on demand titles, delivered through the company’s advanced fiber and telecloud infrastructure. Powered by fiber, 4G and 5G technologies, teleStream ensures low latency and high-definition streaming without the need for satellite dishes.
The service is expected to serve as a catalyst for change in the media industry by modernizing digital lifestyles and enhancing the quality of entertainment available to Ethiopian households.
Ethio telecom stated that teleStream integrates several features designed to improve user experience and promote a digitally inclusive economy.
Through fiber broadband connectivity, the platform provides stable and uninterrupted streaming. It also incorporates parental control options and access to educational content suitable for families.
For content creators and television stations, teleStream offers a cost-efficient distribution channel that broadens audience reach while reducing dependence on costly foreign satellite services. The company emphasized that the platform strengthens local content hosting and distribution.
Businesses and institutions, including hotels, are expected to benefit from simplified and seamless entertainment solutions.
