PM Abiy Lays Foundation for Busa Gonofa Integrated Food Industry

Addis Ababa, February 19, 2026 (ENA) –  Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Busa Gonofa Integrated Food Industry.

 

 

The project once completed will have a processing capacity of 2,000 tons of maize and 120 tons of soy bean per day.

‘‘the Busa Gonofa Integrated Food Industry for which we have launched the construction will be a modern facility for processing maize and soy bean flour, along with 14 other maize-based products.’’ prime minister Abiy announced in his social media.

 

 

According to him, the project will also create jobs for over 6,500 permanent and contract employees and generate a wide market for local farmers, cooperatives, and private seed producers, enhancing the value chain and boosting the local economy.
