Tulu Kapi Gold Development Project Emerges as Model for Responsible Resource Investment, Says PM Abiy

Addis Ababa, February 18, 2026 (ENA)—Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has hailed the Tulu Kapi Gold Development Project as a landmark example of responsible natural resource investment, emphasizing its transformative potential for both the national economy and local communities.

Located in Ethiopia’s West Wollega Genji Zone of Oromia region, the project is being implemented through a strategic partnership between the government and private investors.

​​​​According to the Prime Minister, Tulu Kapi represents a new standard for how Ethiopia can harness its natural wealth sustainably, transparently, and inclusively.

“Seeing the project firsthand, I am confident that with continued effort, it will not only generate economic growth but also uplift the local communities and inspire further development in the region,” PM Abiy wrote on his social media channels following an on-site visit.
