Ethiopia’s President Taye Joins Leaders in Luanda for Landmark AU–EU Summit

Addis Ababa, November 24, 2025 (ENA)— President Taye Atske Selassie is in Luanda to attend the seventh AU–EU Summit, taking place under the theme “Promoting Peace and Prosperity Through Effective Multilateralism.”

Leaders from African Union (AU) and European Union (EU) member states have gathered in the Angolan capital for the two-day summit, which marks 25 years of AU–EU partnership and coincides with the 50th independence anniversaries of Angola and several other African countries.

The summit is being co-chaired by Angolan President João Lourenço and President of the European Council António Costa. Several leaders, including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, have already arrived in Luanda for the high-level meeting.
