Ethiopia’s PM Abiy Holds High-Level Talks with Global Leaders on G20 Sidelines

Addis Ababa, November 22, 2025 (ENA)–Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held a series of bilateral and multilateral discussions with leaders of major global economies, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

Among those he met were Finland’s President Alexander Stubb, European Council President António Costa, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

He also held a productive and substantive talks at the G20 Leaders’ Summit with additional engagements with fellow leaders from India, Vietnam, South Korea and Australia as well.

PM Abiy also met with Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Pulse of Africa learned.

Talks centered on regional developments, multilateral cooperation, and strengthening bilateral ties in key sectors including education, climate action, and investment—at a time when Ethiopia is accelerating its economic reforms and opening to global partners.
