Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Meets European Council President António Costa at G20 Summit

Addis Ababa, November 22, 2025 (ENA) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held a bilateral meeting with European Council President António Costa on the sidelines of the G20 summit in South Africa, focusing on strengthening ties between Ethiopia and the European Union.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Abiy took to social media to share details of the discussion.

"Building on Ethio-EU existing relations, I held a bilateral meeting with António Costa, President of the European Council," the Prime Minister posted. "We reaffirmed our commitment to deepening cooperation between Ethiopia and the European Union across multiple areas."

The meeting represents continued diplomatic engagement between Ethiopia and the EU, taking advantage of the multilateral platform provided by the G20 gathering to advance bilateral relations.
