Malaysian PM Concludes His Official Visit to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, November 20, 2025 (ENA) -- The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, has successfully concluded his three-day official visit to Ethiopia.

The visit was marked by the signing of new cooperation agreements and a renewed commitment to deepening economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh bade farewell to the prime minister and his delegation at Bole International Airport.

 

During his visit, Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim held discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, focused on broadening partnership and cooperation in key sectors.

Ethiopia and Malaysia formalized agreements in several areas, including tourism, air transport services, and health.

Furthermore, cooperation between the Kuala Lumpur City Council and the Addis Ababa City Administration was signed. The two cities cemented a sister city partnership through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Prime Minister Anwar also participated in the Ethiopia-Malaysia High-Level Business Forum at the Addis International Convention Center, which was also attended by President Taye Atsek Selassie.

Prime Minister Anwar stated that his visit would help advance efforts to elevate the relationship between the two countries into a stronger economic alliance.
