PM Abiy Credits Economic Policy Shift for Ethiopia’s Transformation Beyond Agriculture

Addis Ababa, October 28, 2025 (ENA)-- Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed underscored that the  policy aimed at transforming Ethiopia’s economy from being primarily agricultural to a more diversified one has proven highly successful.

Prime Minister Abiy is now responding to questions and providing explanations during the 6th round, 5th year, 2nd regular session of the House of People's Representatives.

Since the   implementation of   multi-sectoral cooperation,  a clear direction has been established, enabling the government and the people to work together toward sustainable development, the Premier revealed.

A notable example of this collaboration is the Green Legacy Initiative, through which the government and citizens have collectively planted over 48 billion seedlings.

Each year, more than 25 million Ethiopians participate in this effort, demonstrating the strong unity and cooperation between the government and the people in advancing national development goals, it was learned.
