President Taye of Ethiopia Leads Delegation to 80th UN General Assembly in New York

Addis Ababa, September 22, 2025 (ENA) – A high-level Ethiopian delegation, led by President Taye Atske Selassie, has arrived in New York to take part in the 80th United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

The delegation, which includes State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, along with representatives from various institutions, has begun its participation in the 80th UN General Assembly, held in New York under the theme: "Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights."


 

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ethiopia will actively and strongly engage in discussions at the Assembly on issues that safeguard its own national interests as well as the interests of Africa.

In addition to taking part in the main sessions, Ethiopia will also engage in numerous bilateral and multilateral sideline meetings, giving priority to its national interests.

“At a time when our world is facing diverse challenges to peace and security, the 80th anniversary of the UN underscores more than ever the need for member states to strengthen their unity and work together to build a better world, Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry noted.
