Second Africa- CARICOM Summit Kicks off in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, September 7, 2025 (ENA) – The Second Africa- CARICOM Summit kicked off today in Addis Ababa in the presence of leaders from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Africa, including Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia.

The Summit is organized under the theme “Transcontinental Partnership in Pursuit of Reparatory Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”

The Summit aligns with the principles of the African Union (AU)-CARICOM Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strengthening engagement and fostering linkages between CARICOM and Africa.

Heads of State and Government from both regions, along with various international representatives, will explore new ways to strengthen their bond and boost cooperation during the Second Africa-CARICOM Summit.  

The Summit brings together African nations, Caribbean states, and the global African diaspora to strengthen unity, deepen integration, and jointly pursue reparations and reparatory justice.
