Ethiopia, Czech Republic Ink Deal for First-Ever Children's Museum in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, August 25, 2025 (ENA) – Ethiopia and Czech Republic have signed an agreement to establish the First-Ever Children's Museum in Addis Ababa.
Ethiopia’s Tourism Minister Selamawit Kassa signed the agreement today in Prague with officials from the Czech National Museum and the Czech Development Agency.
This agreement paves the way for the construction of Ethiopia's first modern museum dedicated to children, supported financially by the government of the Czech Republic.
The permanent children's museum is set to be located within Friendship Park No. 2 in Addis Ababa, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
During the signing, Minister Selamawit expressed that the museum will not only provide children with accessible knowledge about their nation's history and culture but will also foster their creative, educational, and intellectual growth.
She also extended her gratitude to the Czech government for its financial and technical assistance in the establishment of the museum.
It was highlighted that this permanent children's museum initiative will aid children in understanding Ethiopia's tourism resources as they mature, empowering them to make meaningful contributions to the sector's development.
