Kombolcha's New Airport Terminal to Boost Regional Travel

Addis Ababa, August 1, 2025 (ENA)--- The new Kombolcha Airport terminal will significantly improve the travel experience for passengers in the Wollo region.

The state-of-the-art project, valued at 12 million Euros,  featuring  a modern passenger terminal, a VIP terminal, and other essential facilities built to global standards.


 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Amhara Regional State Chief Administrator Arega Kebede and Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew.

The new passenger terminal, designed to handle up to 320 passengers at a time, was constructed with an investment of over 1.8 billion Birr.

During the event, Chief Administrator Arega Kebede highlighted the immense importance of the airport expansion for both the region and the country.



 

He stated that the Amhara Regional State is home to numerous ongoing large-scale projects, and officials are committed to redoubling their efforts to complete them.

CEO Mesfin Tasew highlighted the airline's success in modernizing and expanding air transport accessibility.

He noted that Ethiopian Airlines is continually growing its domestic and international destinations while working to complete six new airports across the country on time and to a high standard.
