PM Abiy Confers with his Italian Counterpart Giorgia Meloni

Addis Ababa, July 19, 2025 (ENA) --- Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has today discussed with the Prime Minister of  Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni.

PM Abiy said on social media post that “ I had the pleasure once again of welcoming Prime Minister of  Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni to the National Palace.”

 

During our meeting, we engaged in productive discussions on a range of bilateral and multilateral issues. Our longstanding partnership was further reinforced by the signing of a Joint Declaration on the “Ethiopian–Italian Cooperation Framework”, Abiy stated.

 

Prime Minister Abiy has also held an official welcoming ceremony for PM Giorgia Meloni at the National Palace.

Meloni is in Addis Ababa to attend the UN Food Summit that will be held from July 27 to 29, 2025 in Addis Ababa. Ethiopia and Italy are cohosting the Summit.
