Premier Emphasizes Active Engagements of Political Parties in Nationwide Reconciliation Process

Addis Ababa, June 20, 2025 (ENA)— Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed urged all political parties to engage meaningfully in the country's ongoing national dialogue process. 

Convening a meeting with representatives of various political parties recently, the Prime Minister underscored that utmost effort is being made to resolve major misunderstandings prevailing in the country through inclusive national dialogue.

Ethiopia has recently launched a nationwide reconciliation initiative aimed at addressing past political upheavals and fostering national unity.

 Prime Minster Abiy also emphasized that political parties need to have enhanced participation in this national dialogue.

  Several segments of the society, including political parties, are actively participating in the national dialogue, the prime minister said.

 However, some political parties are not participating in the national dialogue, Abiy said, affirming for parties that there is nothing that prohibits them from making their reflections.

 

In view of the supremacy of ideas, the prime minister urged all political parties to actively participate in the national dialogue.

 Citing that various agenda items are being entertained, Abiy stated that the national dialogue is open to all parties who believe in the discussion and consultation.

 Following issues identified during the national dialogue process, Prime Minister Abiy affirmed that amendments will be made in accordance with the law.
