PM Abiy Convenes Arts Community across Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, June 15, 2025 (ENA) --- Prime Minister Abiy has convened a discussion session with representatives from the arts community across all regions, according Office of Prime Minister.

These individuals are part of a broader, ongoing dialogue that has taken place at multiple levels, aimed at identifying key issues within the sector, Abiy said. 

 

The Prime Minister stated that the arts are vital to a nation’s identity and growth.

He further added arts preserve cultural heritage, promote social unity, and give voice to diverse communities.

Through education, the arts nurture creativity and critical thinking. Economically, they drive innovation, tourism, and job creation, Abiy  said.

 

The arts are not merely a form of expression; they are a pillar of national strength and unity.

Today’s sessions focused on consolidating those discussions to identify matters that require higher-level attention and intervention, as well as areas where artists themselves must take an active role.
