National Consultation Crucial for Sustainable Peace, Development: Nat’l Dialogue Participants

Addis Ababa, May 31, 2025 (ENA) -- Participants in the ongoing national consultation forum have underscored the importance of the dialogue in advancing lasting peace and sustainable development in Ethiopia.

The consultation, which began on Friday in Addis Ababa with the involvement of federal-level stakeholders, seeks to address unresolved national issues and propose tangible, long-term solutions.

Speaking to ENA, attendees emphasized that the forum presents a concrete opportunity to promote peace and development through inclusive, dialogue-based approaches.

The participants also expressed strong commitment to ensuring the success of the initiative.

The three-day forum, organized by the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission, is currently being held in Addis Ababa.

Brigadier General Kasaye Chemeda described the forum as a critical platform to “hand over a better country to the next generation.”


 

He emphasized its potential to resolve long-standing societal challenges and contribute to the nation’s sustainable development and called on all Ethiopians to actively participate, noting that the consultation will help nurture a culture of dialogue and constructive problem-solving.

Artist Zeleke Gessese also voiced his support, stating that the forum provides a meaningful avenue to address deeply rooted national problems.


 

Similarly, Omod Itang affirmed the significance of the consultation process, calling it a viable path to achieving lasting peace and harmony across the country.


 

Representatives from 38 federal institutions and associations are participating in this agenda-setting phase of the national consultation process.
