Nat'l Dialogue Commission Reaffirms Readiness to Make Historic Dialogue More Participatory, Inclusive

Addis Ababa, May 30, 2025 (ENA)— The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) has expressed its readiness to make the ongoing dialogue more participatory and inclusive in order to bring lasting solutions for the nation's fundamental problems.

A three-day Federal Level Stakeholders Agenda Collection and Consultation started in Addis Ababa today.

Opening the consultative meeting today, Chief Commissioner Professor Mesfin Araya said the commission, in collaboration with various stakeholders, is carrying out endeavors to realize the aspiration of Ethiopians.

 

Including Tigray Regional State in the process of the national dialogue and collecting agendas from Ethiopians living abroad are still among the major activities to be carried out by the commission, he revealed.

To make Ethiopia’s national dialogue that brings lasting solutions for the fundamental problems  of the country more participatory and inclusive, the National Dialogue Commission is ready to contribute its part, Professor Mesfin affirmed.

Religious fathers and leaders, elders, political parties, media institutions, civic and professional associations, public figures and influential persons, democratic and law enforcement institutions, among others, were also urged to play critical role for the success of the historic dialogue.

 

On his part, National Dialogue Commissioner Ambaye Ogato said it is high time that Ethiopia and Ethiopians took brave and bold measures to solve the nation’s multifaceted problems  through inclusive dialogue.

He stressed the need for everyone to own the process by investing their respective knowledge, expertise and time as there could be no observer or spectator in the process of the national dialogue.

 

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission was established on February 23, 2022 with the aim of facilitating  dialogue on fundamental issues of the country.

 

Since then, it has been undertaking a number of preparatory activities, including collection of agendas in various parts of the country from various segments of the society.
