Third African Welding Federation Annual Assembly and International Conference Concludes

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2025 (ENA) -- The African Welding Federation Annual Assembly and International Conference has served as a critical platform for sharing knowledge and experiences among African welding experts and professionals, Federal Technical and Vocational Training Institute Director General, Biruk Kedir said.

The three-day conference held in Addis Ababa under the theme, "Empowering Africa: Strengthening Welding Capacity for Regional Integration and Global Competitiveness," concluded today.

Welding Federation of Africa President, Hamed Abdelaleem, FDRE Technical and Vocational Training Institute Director General, Biruk Kedir, among other officials of the federation attended the closing ceremony of the conference.

The conference emphasized Africa’s strong research and technical capacity in welding and advanced equipment and skill development, it was learnt.

Researches were presented at the conference, underscoring the importance of data driven decision making, integrating experimental and statistical analysis, it was learnt.

Moreover, the conference fostered dialogue on advancing Africa's welding industry innovation, education and policy alignment, calling for greater collaboration, standardization and investment in welding sector across the continent.

Finally, outstanding welders who competed in welding competition were awarded from machine to certificate.
