Invest in Ethiopia 2025 Business Forum Anticipated to Massively Promote Untapped Potential

Addis Ababa, April 10, 2025 (ENA)—Invest in Ethiopia 2025: High-Level Business Forum will massively promote Ethiopia's untapped investment opportunities, Commissioner of Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) Zeleke Temesgen said.
The Invest Ethiopia 2025: High-Level Business Forum, will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from May 12-13, 2025, co-organized by key government institutions and development partners.
Under the theme “Ethiopia: The Next Frontier for Investment – Unlocking Untapped Potential”, the forum is expected to bring together over 700 participants, including global investors, business leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
Briefing the media in connection with the upcoming forum today, Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen said the forum is instrumental to show the commitment of the government in creating a conducive business environment, the priority given to the private sector and promoting the nation's untapped investment opportunities.
"We are excited to launch Invest in Ethiopia 2025: High level Business Forum and showcase the vast untapped investment potential of Ethiopia," he added.
Ethiopia is a country on the rise and the high-level business forum will provide a unique opportunity for investors to learn about the country's business climate, explore opportunities and connect with local entrepreneurs and government officials, he further affirmed.
State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew said on her part that the forum is crucial to promote the ongoing comprehensive economic reform for foreign and local investors.
The forum is mainly targeted to promote various economic reforms being undertaken in Ethiopia, she said, adding the country has undertaken reforms in the financial sector, trade, investment, among others.
Further, various legal frameworks have been amended with the aim of creating a favorable business climate and transforming Ethiopia’s economy, she stated.
The state minister also stressed the significant role of development partners and other pertinent stakeholders in collaboratively working with the government of Ethiopia.
The forum will provide a platform for participants to learn about Ethiopia's business climate, investment opportunities, and government policies in the spheres investment and economic growth.
Accordingly, the forum comes at the onset of Ethiopia's macro-economic reforms, including financial sector liberalization, easing up foreign exchange restrictions, opening up of key sectors and improvement of administrative and governance conditions.
The Invest in Ethiopia-High-Level Business Forum aims to enhance the government’s efforts in fostering private sector-led investment by showcasing new reforms, addressing existing challenges and promoting investment opportunities for both foreign and domestic investors, it was further stated.
The forum also aims to catalyze investment and drive economic growth in Ethiopia.
