Adwa Victory Alters History: Professor Raymond Jonas

Professor Raymond Jonas is the author of the book "The Battle of Adwa: African Victory in the Age of Empire." He currently serves as a distinguished professor of history at the University of Washington.

Ethiopia is preparing to mark the 129th Adwa Victory Day colorfully across the country under the theme “Adwa, Victory of the Black People.”

In March 1896, Ethiopians stunned the whole world by decisively defeating the well-armed Italian invading force at battle of Adwa.
