IGAD Chief Holds Talks with EU Special Representative for Horn of Africa

Addis Ababa, February 17, 2025 (ENA)-- The Executive Secretary of IGAD, Workneh Gebeyehu held talks with the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Anett Weber to deliberate on matters of mutual concern regarding regional peace, security, and development.

 “This morning, I met with the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Anett Weber, and Ambassador Denisa, the EU Ambassador to Djibouti and IGAD, to deliberate on matters of mutual concern regarding regional peace, security, and development,” the Executive Secretary said on his Facebook page.

Workneh pointed out that the European Union is a key strategic partner to IGAD, and our engagement underscores the importance of multilateralism in addressing regional challenges.

“We remain committed to strengthening our cooperation for the benefit of the region,” he affirmed.
