Botswana's President Duma Boko Arrives in Addis Ababa for 38th AU Summit

Addis Ababa, January 13, 2025 (ENA)—President Duma Boko of Botswana arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to participate  in 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

Upon his arrival, the president was cordially welcomed by Ethiopia’s Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergogie Tesfaye and other high-level government officials at Bole International Airport.

The 38th AU heads of states summit will be held in Addis Ababa from February 15 to 16 under the theme: "Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”

It will focus on advancing reparatory justice and fostering racial healing across the continent.

As African leaders are now starting to gather in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa for the AU Summit from 15 to 16 February 2025, one of the key moments would be the election of the next African Union Commission Chairperson.
