AU Undergoing Extensive Reforms: AUC Chairperson

Addis Ababa, February 12, 2025 (ENA)-- African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat revealed that the African Union is undertaking all-round reforms.

The Chairperson made this remark at the opening of the 46th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council in Addis Ababa today.

The Chairman said that AUC has registered remarkable achievements over the past years particularly in the areas of economic development, agriculture and social sectors.  


 

The Union has been carried out extensive reforms aimed at drastically improve its overall activities, he added stressing the need for much efforts to enhance the peace and security matters of the continent.

The Council during its two day session will discuss on critical issues of the continent under the agreed AU theme for 2025, Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations, which will be officially launched by the Assembly.

The meeting, which drew foreign affairs ministers and senior government officials from AU member nations, will cover important topics for the continent, such as development and peace and security.
