Ethiopia to Host Int’l Conference on Irrigation, Climate-Resilient Production

Addis Ababa, February 7, 2025 (ENA) –The International Conference on Irrigation and Climate-Resilient Production is set to be held in Addis Ababa next week, coinciding with the 38th African Union Summit.
Scheduled for February 12–14, 2025, at the Adwa Memorial Museum, this event will gather prominent figures, including African leaders, senior government officials, and representatives from the African Union, World Bank, embassies, and various international organizations.
This conference aims to engage experts, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders from Africa and beyond to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging trends, and highlight successful initiatives in irrigation development and climate adaptation.
It will also provide a platform for sharing best practices, showcasing innovative projects, and promoting investment in climate-resilient agriculture.
Additionally, the conference will delve into innovative financial mechanisms that emphasize inclusivity, ensuring that women, youth, and marginalized communities are actively engaged in and benefit from irrigation development initiatives.
Ethiopia’s Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands has emphasized that this conference highlights Ethiopia's leadership in promoting climate-resilient agricultural practices and its dedication to fostering global partnerships for sustainable development.
