Kenya’s UDA Party Leader Stresses for Establishment Transcontinental Media

Addis Ababa, February 6, 2025 (ENA)—The United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) Executive Director, Nicodemus Bore urged transitional media formation to promote the true images of Africa and shape its own narrative.
Bore also highlighted the steadily growing cooperation between Ethiopia and Kenya.
Speaking to ENA, the executive director praised Ethiopia’s bold initiative for the creation of an African-oriented media, instrumental in fostering positive rhetoric across Africa and thwarting a prejudiced portrayal of the continent.
Addressing the 35th annually African Union Summit in 2022, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed called for the establishment of continental medial to fight disinformation.
The PM indicated that the creation of continental media house will help African countries to provide authoritative news and information, fight disinformation, and promotes the African collective agenda and strengthen Africa’s voice across the world.
As part of the effort to establish pan African media house, Ethiopia has been taking a practical measure that would be considered as the continent’s desire in this respect.
Visiting Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) on Monday, United Democratic Alliance Party Executive Director, Nicodemus Bore said the agency’s cutting edge media facilities and its work is a testament to become the voice of Africa.
Currently, ENA has embarked on the creation of a digital transcontinental digital media outlet named POA (Pulse of Africa) to become an African-oriented media.
He also stressed the need for supporting such African-oriented media initiative like Pulse of Africa, a pan-African media with a digital alternative.
"I think once we have the Pulse of Africa, we are going to support it across Africa. So that we can be giving to the world the correct information, not only on matters of development and growth, but also on internal matters that we can be able to tell the world."
Speaking on the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Kenya, the executive director noted that the two countries have long been at the forefront of promoting pan-Africanism and unity across Africa.
The countries are working to foster peace, cooperation, and shared development within Africa, he explained.
“As you are aware, Kenya and Ethiopia are in the forefront in fighting for inclusion of everyone into the pan Africanism.”
