Kenyan UDA Party Executive Director Praises ENA’s Initiative to Serve as Voice of Africa

Addis Ababa February 3, 2025 (ENA)—United Democratic Alliance Party Executive Director, Nicodemus Bore commended Ethiopian News Agency (ENA)—the sole news wire service of the country for its practical move to become the voice of Africa.
A Kenyan delegation led by United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) Executive Director, Bore has visited Ethiopian News Agency’s state-of-the-art media complex today in Addis Ababa.
The executive director was warmly welcomed by Seife Derebe, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian News Agency and briefed about the far-reaching reforms that ENA has been carrying out.
Following his visit, the executive director commended Ethiopian News Agency’s media and communication infrastructures and its endeavors to expand the service.
“I think that the visionary leadership of Ethiopian News Agency has been realizing what we call a state-of-the-art where news and broadcasting has been brought into the level of what the world is expected of in Ethiopia,” he said.
Historically, ENA played a significant role in communicating African affairs since its inception in the late 1940s, Bore also acknowledged.
The image and story of Africa have been distorted and wrongly portrayed for a long time.
UDA’s Executive Director echoed these sentiments, but Bore argues that Africa is blessed with vast natural resources and its own history and beautiful culture to be communicated and promoted.
For him, in this respect, the Ethiopian News Agency has embarked on a bold initiative to portray a true version of Africa and its own perspective.
“We have been relying on information given to us by other bodies,” he pointed out.
He also stressed the need for supporting this media house since its efforts fit with the aspiration of the African continent.
Noting that Ethiopia and Kenya are not just friendly countries, but the two countries share numerous commonalities and are interlinked across borders, he said.
Therefore, the executive director said there is a need to further consolidate their relations and work together for common goals and the advancement of African ideals.
