Prosperity Party Commences its Second Regular Congress

Addis Ababa, January 31, 2025 (ENA) - The Second regular congress of Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party that will run for three days commenced at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum this afternoon in Addis Ababa.

The congress of this Africa’s largest political party is expected to pass crucial decisions and strategic directions aimed at enhancing the party's standing and the country's development endeavors.

Over 1,700 party members, leaders, and representatives from more than a dozen allied political parties across Africa and beyond are attending the congress to deliberate on key national issues and shape the future of Ethiopia.

International delegations from a diverse range of countries are participating at the congress.  

With 15.7 million members, the Prosperity Party is the largest political organization in Africa.  The congress is expected to address critical policy matters and chart the party's course for the coming years.

The first regular congress of Prosperity Party was held in March 2022 when it promised to implement critical socio-economic changes such as the ones they visited yesterday.
