Foreign Affairs State Minister Holds Talks with Turkish Ambassador on Bilateral, Multilateral Matters

Addis Ababa January 9/2025 (ENA)—State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga discussions with Turkish Ambassador to Ethiopia, Berk Baran.

They discussed bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of shared importance including boosting trade and investment ties as well as enhancing cooperation in peace and security in the Horn of Africa.

On the occasion, Ambassador Mesganu stressed the strong bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Turkiye and called for further enhancing ties in trade and investment.

 Mesganu further urged Turkiye’s businesses and investors to benefit from the recent macroeconomic reforms in the country.

 He also expressed his gratitude to the People and Government of Türkiye for successfully hosting the Ankara process that culminated in the signing of the Ankara Declaration between Ethiopia and Somalia.

Ambassador Baran commended the Ankara Declaration and the commitments of the Governments of Ethiopia and Somalia and expressed his commitment to further enhance multifaceted ties during his tenure.
