PM Abiy Inaugurates Gode Irrigation Infrastructure Project in Somali Region of Ethiopia

Addis Ababa January 3|2025 (ENA)—Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated the Gode Irrigation Infrastructure Project today in Somali region of Ethiopia.

“I came to Gode two years ago, and it’s encouraging to see the progress taking place since then, the Premier wrote on social media pages.

Our focus must remain steadfast on development—the path that unlocks opportunities, improves livelihoods, and transforms communities, he added.

“I am particularly pleased with the success of the West Gode Irrigation Project. What was once barren land is now being cultivated, with promising potential for producing sesame, wheat, corn, and a variety of horticultural crops,” the Prime Minister stated.
