National Palace Renovation Stands Remarkable, Enduring Testament to Ethiopia's Interconnected History

Addis Ababa January 1/2025 (ENA)— The renovation of the National Palace stands as a remarkable and enduring testament to Ethiopia's interconnected history, spanning the past, present, and future, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh remarked.
Leaders and professionals from media outlets and tourism service providers toured the newly renovated National Palace of Ethiopia.
In his address to the attendees, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh emphasized the profound importance of both renovating and opening the National Palace to the public. He described the Palace as a place where the historical imprints of the past, present, and future converge.
He highlighted that the National Palace is one of Ethiopia's most significant landmarks, showcasing the nation's modern statehood history. He stressed the importance of preserving this heritage for future generations through such renovations.
The Deputy Prime Minister further explained that the government's decision to renovate and open the National Palace to the public is based on three core principles.

Secondly, he noted that the renovation aligns with the principle of efficiently developing and utilizing national assets, preventing their underutilization or neglect.
Additionally, he explained that the initiative aims to preserve national heritage, ensuring that future generations gain a comprehensive understanding of their history.
In closing, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the media to play an essential role by disseminating balanced and accurate information, helping the public fully appreciate and benefit from their historical heritage.
