Ethiopia, Djibouti have Unique & Strong Ties: FM Gedion

Addis Ababa December 30/2024 (ENA)— Ethiopia’s delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos held a working visit to Djibouti for bilateral talks.
During his visit the Minister has discussed with President of the Republic of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf on various bilateral and regional issues.
Foreign Minister Gedion said in a statement that Ethiopia and Djibouti have unique and strong ties.
“We have discussed a range of issues both with the foreign minister and the president. We have updated the President on the discussion we had earlier this morning with my brother, the Foreign Minister on trade issues, port utilization, regional security and political developments," Gedion elaborated.
He said the discussions were very constructive and productive.
The peoples of Ethiopia and Djibouti share cultural and historical links and are connected by a modern railway line.
This electrified railway enhances the efficient movement of goods between Ethiopia and Djibouti thereby cementing the people-to-people ties of the two countries.
