Deputy PM Visits STEELY R.M.I. Steel Manufacturing Plant in Bishoftu city of Oromia Region

Addis Ababa December 19/2024 (ENA)—Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh visited today the STEELY R.M.I. steel manufacturing plant in Bishoftu city, Oromia region.

“This innovative facility leverages advanced digital processing and renewable energy to recycle scrap metal, producing high-quality steel products for the construction industry,” the Deputy Prime Minister wrote on X.

Temesgen added that by substituting imported steel with locally manufactured alternatives, the plant is contributing significantly to economic self-reliance.

The government is committed to fostering a robust private sector as a cornerstone of economic growth, he stated.  

Efforts will focus on improving access to credit, enhancing infrastructure, and optimizing operating conditions to support businesses like STEELY R.M.I. in driving sustainable development, he also revealed.
