Peace, Stability in Horn Critical for Region & Int’l Community: UK’s Ambassador to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa November 12/2024 (ENA) Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos has received Ambassador Darren Welch, the UK's Ambassador to Ethiopia, today. 

During the occasion, Gedion expressed gratitude for the support the United Kingdom has extended towards Ethiopia's ongoing macroeconomic reforms, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

The Minister also provided the Ambassador with an overview of the current peace and security situation in the Horn of Africa, highlighting developments in Sudan and Somalia, it was indicated.

Ambassador Welch for his part conveyed best wishes from the UK’s Foreign Secretary and underscored that peace and stability in the Horn of Africa are critical not just for the region but for the international community at large.

He emphasized the need for collaborative dialogue to achieve lasting solutions.
