Ethiopia Commits for Enhanced Relationship with Middle East Countries

Addis Ababa October 31/2024( ENA) Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expressed Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Middle Eastern countries.
Prime Minister Abiy made this remark in his address to inquires raised from members of the Ethiopian parliament today.
"Everything Ethiopia has previously pursued regarding the Middle East has been completely misguided. Ignoring a wealthy neighboring region where our youth often seek opportunities. We must establish strong relationships with them, as we share much in terms of culture, language, and faith. "
In reality, Middle Eastern nation has made significant contributions to Ethiopia; that is the fact, he said.
It is essential for us to engage with multinational organizations in the region and build solid connections with these countries.
The world is collaborating with them, and there’s no benefit for us if we merely sit idly by while others do so.
They have financial resources, knowledge, experience, and they are close; they are also an important market and a source of employment for our youth, he said.
"We have already started discussions with some Arab organizations and, if possible, will join the Arab League. Wherever we go, we will make our voices heard. We have seen the impact of participating in multinational organizations where we previously had no presence."
