President Reaffirms Ethiopia's Unwavering Commitment for Cooperation with Other Countries

Addis Ababa, October 25/2024 (ENA)-President Taye Atskeselasie said Ethiopia will continue its longstanding history of promoting cooperation, fostering mutual respect, and even extending support to other countries.

President Taye made the remark at an event organized to commemorate the 117th anniversary of the Ethiopian National Defense Force.  

 

It was indicated on the occasion that the Ethiopian National Defense Force has been an army of endurance and victory, invincible in trials. 

During the celebration, President Taye Atskeselasie expressed Ethiopia’s unwavering commitment to continue its history of cooperation, respect, and support to other countries.

Ethiopia has a history of respecting the sovereignty and freedom of its neighbors and other countries. Throughout its history, it has consistently promoted cooperation, fostered mutual respect, and extended support to other countries. This commitment remains unwavering, Taye said.

Amid challenges, the country has built an army capable of accomplishing missions, the President pointed out.  

The works done in the army following the reforms are astonishing and could be exemplary for other African countries, President Taye suggested. 

Defense ministers of African countries who were recently in Addis Ababa gave testimony for this, he recalled.

The Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) Chief of General Staff, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, declared that the ENDF has been reborn amidst a complex landscape of internal challenges and external threats.

 

He affirmed the ENDF's capacity to safeguard the nation's interests with unwavering resolve. 

Field Marshal Birhanu stated ENDF’s pivotal role in national development and its effective contribution to safeguarding Ethiopia's sovereignty and peace. 

 

Minister of Defense Aisha Mohamed on her part highlighted the ENDF's unwavering sacrifices both domestically and internationally, asserting that these trials have only strengthened the army.

This army is experienced, battle-hardened, and firmly committed, demonstrating endurance amid challenges, she stated.
